Consulting

Despite the fact that almost half of the workforce is navigating chronic health conditions, few workplaces have the systems in place to meet their legislated obligations for this cohort of employees.

Although most employers aim to do the right thing, this absence of capability and capacity, can mean that often benign issues, like employee requests for reasonable adjustments, can  escalate into adversarial actions. This creates a less productive and engaged workforce, and leaves businesses potentially exposed to breaches of their duty of care.

Cultural Value can assist organisations to identify gaps in support systems and policies, and recommend improvements that ensure inclusiveness and compliance - strengthening the organisational response to chronic illness across all levels.

Chronic Conditions Assessment Profile

Cultural Value has developed a risk profiling tool that supports organisations to understand how best to support employee disclosures of chronic conditions and ensure compliance with legislated responsibilities.

Adopting a simple traffic light system, the Chronic Conditions Assessment Profile is as user-friendly tool that supports managers, HR Business Partners, and OH&S staff, to efficiently and sensitively assess risk and act proportionately.
The Chronic Conditions Assessment Profile weighs risks across 12 key categories at the individual, team, and organisational level, including:
  • employee self-management
  • access to medical services and care
  • workplace accommodations
  • supervisory rapport, and
  • business maturity
Once all 12 risks criteria have been assessed, an overall risk rating is automatically calculated and given a numerical value. The risks are ranked LOW, MODERATE, HIGH, and a list of appropriate actions are then recommended to the employer.
If you would like to receive a DEMO version of the Chronic Conditions Assessment Profile or want more information, please contact Cultural Value directly.
